Cafe Maya - Casa Acalli

Beautiful spot. Relaxed atmosphere. The owners really take care of you. They often anticipate your needs before you know you need things. They will also allow you to put food and beverages on a tab so you can just swipe for one bill at the end. Less need to hunt around for pesos.

Where to start…. I absolutley adored this place. Its on the end of the beach which was so nice and calm. To walk into the little village in the evenings over the beach was just magical! The bungalows are exactly what I would expect from a beach bungalow: pretty simple with cold shower. But it is equiped with a small coffemaker and stove and the balcony has nice furniture to shill in. The staff was so nice and Ray help me with everything i needed. He sorted me out with the best whale watching tour, a four wheeler and even drove me to the next place i was staying. Coffe was good and the woke up for sunrise to prepare it which i found rare! To me luxury is getting to enjoy the sun set with the ocean as soundtrack. This place is perfect for this. Will be back!!!! If you like luxury and warm showers maybe its not for you! Thanks again

Mixed feelings about this place. Localization is great, just right on the beach. We had a standard room, it was ok, but the mosquito nest was super dirty, smelled awful and it was sticky, so we could not use it around the bed. Also the fan was dirty, old and super loud. We decided to turn it off and open the windows but it was hot! Anyway it was ok for the price:)

We had breakfast at Cafe Maya and it was a lovely long feast lasting several hours. We had two dishes each with cappuccino and juice and coffee. A crepe with ham and Oaxacan cheese and omelette with the same and French stuffed toast and a complete breakfast with fruit and eggs. You should be in a relaxed mood and not in a hurry because the kind lady is making everything herself. We have big appetites and we’re happy to used the umbrellas and chairs for pretty much half the day. Everything was flavorful well prepared. A very loving vibe from the place. 10/10

Stumbled across Casa Acalli and ray, who was super friendly and accommodating, we stayed one night in one of his bungalows and loved our stay. Room was very clean and amazing amenities, great wifi, great bathroom, fridge, mosquito net, and very comfy bed! In the perfect spot, right on the beach with amazing sunset chairs ready for you, and plus the bar next door. Also an amazing breakfast freshly cooked by Ray. Currently renovating and building a new rooms, which will no doubt be beautiful! Thanks Ray for been so kind, we highly recommend everyone stay here!

I feel so lucky that I found this place first time visiting zipolite. You can't describe he feeling of waking up in the morning with the sounds of the ocean and exotic birds making all kinds of cool noises outside. The view is gold; I could see whales swimming from my bed. We stayed in the bungalows where the interior is basic but tastefully done. You don't need a lot when you are staying at a beach place like this; the bed is comfy, nice big towels are provided, there is a fan when in case you overheat and a fridge to keep drinks cold. The shower does not give a lot of water, but that is the reality of Zipolite. I loved looking at the ceiling made out of palm leaves, and the place just screams exotic getaway. They changed out bedsheets and tidied the bungalow during our stay, which was a pleasant surprise. The location is at a quieter part of the beach which is ideal of you wanna sleep earlier at night. But the restaurants and hip beachbars are just a 5 minute walk away if you are interested in that. Down from casa acalli is a very laid back cafe that serves breakfast, drinks and foods during the day which is ideal. They are not loud so won't bother you in your peace. We had the most amazing week and are looking forward to coming back next year!
